Choices for KS4
Preparation is key to success
In Year 9, students at Maidenhill school begin the process of selecting their GCSE choices, which will shape their studies for the next two years. This is a crucial time as the subjects they choose will not only impact their academic journey but may also influence future career opportunities and further education choices.
This is a multi-step process whereby students, and their parents, are informed and supported in ensuring the correct decisions are made for each child. This is done through our KS4 Choices evening and two-week timetable of GCSE taster lesson followed by our preferences stage. This allows the school to build our Year 10 timetable and option blocks around our students to enable as many first choices as possible. The final step is the decisions process which is when the four choices for KS4 are finalised for each individual.
